Chiefly correspondence, 1835-1891, account books and loose accounts, 1835-1891, and other papers of James Minor Holladay of Spotsylvania County, Va., documenting his interest in agriculture and his management of "Prospect Hill." Also included are his records as a county commissioner overseeing financial aid to families of Confederate soldiers; records, 1850-1856, of the Mount Hermon Division No. 348, Sons of Temperance; and records, 1877-1890, of the Kirk of the Cliff Presbyterian Church, Louisa County, Va. Other papers are those of Lewis Holladay of "Bellefonte," Spotsylvania County, Va., including his reports as county coronor; Waller Holladay of "Prospect Hill, " including correspondence concerning the Bank of Virginia, account books and loose accounts, materials relating to family estates, and notes concerning agricultural operations and the management of slaves; and Lucy Daniel (Lewis) Holladay and members of the Lewis family of Franklin County, Ky.
